Heaven's Pregnant Teens
Some Girls

Reviewed by: John-Michael Bond [Tue, May 30, 2006 @ 10:06:29 PM]

As someone who’s never done hard drugs I may be speaking out my ass when I say this, but Some Girls is what I imagine cocaine turned into music would sound like. Each songs is a pulsing burst of rabid screaming and droning hyper active grind with more mood swings than a menopausal women. One second raging grindcore, the next a peaceful shriek of feedback or gibberish. Considering Some Girls is made up of members of the Locust and Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower as well as Wes Eisold of Give Up the Ghost fame the spazzy insanity shouldn’t surprise anyone. If you think the Melvins are easy listening or need something slower than the Locust to “relax” to, you’re just the kind of freak that this record is destined for. Not for the weak of heart or fans of the Early November.

7 out of 10
RIYL: Hard uppers, the Locust, you have ADD or Give Up the Ghosts weirder stuff.
