The Resolution
The Thin Dark Line
Reviewed by: Mike Kraft [Fri, November 11, 2005 @ 2:53:19 AM]
For a band that decided to do a concept album as their first release,
Thin Dark Line have done it well. The album takes you on a
journey through one man's problems in the world and how he chooses to
deal with them. The first track, “The Revolution”, sets just the tone
for your journey. It begins with a letter to the world stating the
problems he goes through and how he would rather “forget his life”.
The second track, “Fire's Got Nothing On Me”, is one of my favorite
tracks on this album. The heaviness of the music, as well as, the
melodious vocals, make this a great single. It shows their
Thrice influence vividly. The lyrics throughout the entire
album has something for everyone to enjoy. Whether its depression,
being single, broken hearts, or anything else bad life gives, this
album brings the emotion to light that involves those feelings.
Track after track this album produces hits. This is an album that the
true indie rocker will enjoy. As stated before, Thin Dark Line
knows how to put together a great concept album. The
Resolution leaves me wondering what their next release will sound
like. Until then, this cd will provide the enjoyment that I have been
desiring for much time. Just like Tokyo Rose, for me, has
brought back good music, Thin Dark Line, has done the same.
This is one that I say you really should check out. It's worth your
time.
